COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR V, SG-13 equivalent

Seaport Department (Port Operations Division)

Contract of Services (CS)

PhP 26,754.00 + 20%

Job Qualification Requirement

·   Completion of 2 years studies in college or High School graduate with relevant vocational/trade course, with preference to Bachelor’s degree graduate;

·   Preferably with National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Radio Telephone Operator’s Certificate;

·   1 year relevant experience; and

·   Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Duties and Responsibilities

·   Operates the communications equipment and radio direction finder in the port

·   Ensures communication equipment is tested, maintained and calibrated

·   Monitors vessel movement and port limit traffic through Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS), and provide update information/status of the harbour to the immediate supervisor

·   Provides information to all vessels in the premises. Coordinates to harbor pilot and tugboats with regards to vessel movements and schedule of arriving and departing vessels

·   Closely monitors the information on the international frequency for possible distress calls and emergency messages, and report to immediate supervisor for guidance

·   Provides information to other agencies such as Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) etc. during inclement weather and provide information to all ships in the harbour.

Performs other duties as maybe assigned by Supervisor or Higher Authority


SHIPPING OPERATIONS SPECIALIST B, SG-11 equivalent

Seaport Department (Port Operations Division)

Contract of Services (CS)

PhP 22,316.00 + 20%

Job Qualification Requirement

·   Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job;

·   Preferably with trainings in Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH), and Loss Control Management (LCM);

·   1 year relevant experience preferably in Maritime or Logistics Industry;

·   Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; and

Valid Land Transportation Office (LTO) Professional Driver’s license

Duties and Responsibilities

·   ·   Serves as Shift Supervisor to monitor all branch activity

·   Conducts ship boarding formalities with Customs, Immigration, Quarantine (CIQ), and pre-departure inspection on all vessels at Subic Port

·   Monitors and supervises ship to ship/shore to ship bunkering operations, and conduct onboard inspection of request, repairs, and recommend approval

·   Conducts inspection and monitoring of vessel loading and unloading operations and ensure that safety precaution is duly observed

·   Maintains record and file of documents for reference

·   Serves as member of the  Seaport Emergency Response Team

·   Conducts vehicle inspection and operation

·   Attends and conducts Safety meetings

Performs other duties designated by the supervisor or head of the Division/Department

DOCUMENT EXAMINER I, SG-10 equivalent

Seaport Department (Port Management Division)

Job Qualification Requirement

·   Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Customs Administration;

·   Typing skills; and Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Duties and Responsibilities

·   Reviews and analyzes the required documents on bring-in permit, temporary transfer, sub-gatepass, local, foreign transshipment applications, vessel entry and exit clearance submitted by locators/processors/ship agents, port users and other accredited service providers

·   Coordinates with other SBMA departments and/or other national government agencies relative to the processing of bring-in permit, temporary transfer, local and foreign transshipment applications for the authenticity of their issued permits and clearances

·   Counter check payment of port fees (wharfage fees) especially on port users prior to recommendation for approval of the documents by the authorized signatory of the department

·   Prepares and submits reports on a daily basis of the actual documents processed

·   Attends to customers inquiries and concerns and maintains excellent quality service

Performs other functions as may be assigned relative to port operations


SHIPPING OPERATIONS INSPECTOR, SG-8 equivalent

Job Qualification Requirement

·   Completion of 2 years studies in college, preferably Bachelor’s degree;

·   Preferably with Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training;

·   1 year relevant experience;

·   Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; and

Valid Land Transportation Office (LTO) Professional Driver’s license

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Qualification Requirement

·   Completion of 2 years studies in college, preferably Bachelor’s degree;

·   Typing skills (35wpm); and

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Duties and Responsibilities

·   Prepares reports/data as required by the management

·   Encodes all necessary information declared on the documents received

·   Receives and counter check the completeness of documents pertaining to manual gatepass

·   Ensures an organized and complete record of documents through log sheet and computer

·   Performs other port related duties assigned by immediate supervisor and higher management


CARGO CHECKER, SG-6 equivalent

Seaport Department (Terminal Operations Division)

Contract of Services (CS)

PhP 15,524.00 + 20%

Job Qualification Requirement

·   Preferably Bachelor’s degree graduate; and

·   4 hours relevant training

Duties and Responsibilities

·   Inspects and accomplishes Import/Export/Permanent/Temporary Transfer/Transshipment Tally sheets on all inbound/outbound cargoes;  For Gatepass Management System (GMS) applications, tagged as inspected and paid on all outgoing cargoes

·   Manning of primary gates namely: Tipo, National Container Terminal (NCT) – 1 and Hanjin to monitor actual inbound/outbound cargoes on a per shift basis

·   Posting of Seaport controlled inner gates namely: Boton, Leyte, NSD and NCT-2 for the monitoring of cargoes coming to and from the controlled areas. Also, for the monitoring of loaded containerized cargoes subject for X-ray examination at NCT-2

·   Checks and verifies the date and time of release of all cargoes exiting the Seaport controlled areas to ensure that cargoes are cleared for exit by the concerned branch and/or division

·   Prepares/encodes on the log sheet the actual time of entry and exit of cargoes and submits the copy together with its required documents to the immediate supervisor or his/her assistant

·   Conducts measurement on used vehicles upon discharged from the carrying vessel

·   Submits daily accomplishment report to the immediate supervisor or his/her assistant

·   Reports discrepancies or irregularities observed that needs immediate action by the supervisor

·   Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or the higher authority
